Ring In the New Year with Jackson Morgan

After a full month of Christmas parties, cookie swaps, and family gatherings, New Year’s Eve has a way of arriving before we even realize it. Still, it is one of my very favorite nights to host. There is something so special about gathering close friends around a beautiful table, serving an elevated menu, and toasting to a fresh start. This year, I am leaning into classic gold and black decor, cozy cocktails, and a menu that feels a little extra because New Year’s should feel special.

The Table

After the hustle of the holidays, New Year’s Eve is the perfect reason to lean into a little sparkle. I started with a rich velvet tablecloth edged in gold fringe. Touches of gold and silver instantly create a festive look, and a hand lettered “Happy New Year” sign adds a sweet personal detail.

This is also the night I love to bring out my best wedding china. Pairing your prettiest place settings with dramatic linens and warm candlelight creates a table that encourages guests to stay well past midnight. A few black accents, gold flatware, and subtle shimmer tie everything together without feeling over the top.

The Menu

For a night as celebratory as New Year’s Eve, I enjoy serving a more elegant menu. A few small bites to start, a standout main course, and familiar favorites keep things simple but luxurious. Do not forget a little caffeine to keep guests awake!

Appetizers
Bougie Gougies
Olives
Warmed nuts
Baked brie
Cheese straws
Smoked salmon Toasts with Creme Fraiche and Capers

Main Course
Steak with Chimichurri Sauce
Roasted Au gratin Potatoes

Boozy Brownie Trifles

Nearly everything can be prepped ahead so you can enjoy your guests and still be ready for that midnight toast.
