Committing to a unique theme may require a little perseverance and outside-the-box thinking, but it is worth the time and effort to offer a beyond-the-norm experience for your friends and family. Being landlocked may have put minor limits on our lobster boil menu, and even though the spread was a little different than what I would have preferred to serve for a real lobster boil, I made it work with the resources I found available.
Between the finger-licking good lobster rolls, traditional corn on the cob, refreshing watermelon, and crispy chips – a simple but scrumptious meal was well-received and enjoyed by all. Dessert was also delicious and quickly devoured, which comes as no surprise when you serve boozy Jackson Morgan Southern Cream salted caramel ice cream cake (recipe coming soon). Cocktails including root beer floats and peach milkshakes were a cool and creative complement to this summer spread.
