A warm welcome to sunshine and sweet summertime. One of the most effortless holidays to host, in my opinion, is the Fourth of July. Outdoor parties not only offer gentle breezes and pleasant scenery, but also generally make for simple clean up. Leave your usual dinnerware in the cabinet and opt for sturdy paper plates or, my personal preference, durable melamine plates and servingware.

The painterly effect of the watercolor table runner and napkins presented a fun and cheerful take on the traditional color scheme. For added flare, the firecracker napkins rings are a favorite.

Your menu can be simple and satisfying or totally over the top. I chose to serve mini burger sliders on fluffy pretzel buns with crinkle cut french fries. Boozy orange cupcakes alongside an ice cream float bar with all the tasty toppings made a dynamic duo for dessert.

Nothing quenches a summer thirst quite like water. For a colorful and creative way to keep your water cool in the warm summer months, first use a festive star cookie cutter to cut out star-shaped watermelon pieces. Freeze these pieces prior to your party, then add to your pitcher to keep your beverage cold. Let Mother Nature provide the atmospheric effect while you keep decor simple with a basic but beautiful flower arrangement accented with small flags as a centerpiece to celebrate America’s birthday.
