Tennessee Snow Day Party

A snow day in Middle Tennessee is a rare enough occasion that when it happens, protocol calls for a party! Coincidentally, I live at the top of a hill that is perfectly splendid for sledding. I am anxiously awaiting a snow day so that we can dust off our sled and enjoy the hillside. When white covers the ground we know family is on the way to spend the day. I encourage everyone the next time it snows to invite your friends and neighbors over to enjoy speedy trips on the sled, bond over building a snowman, sip on toasty cocktails, or get in the thick of it and make snow angels.

Wave everyone in to warm up with slow cooker white chicken chili, mini grilled cheese sandwiches, and of course boozy Jackson Morgan Southern Cream hot chocolate. Decorated cookies and hot chocolate pudding shots found on the bar cart put the sweet in this snow day. Party prep was a cinch since I kept decor simple and used a lot of items I already had. A super neat vintage sled that I use for Christmas decor served as the perfect centerpiece for chili toppings and grilled cheese sandwiches. A Hester and Cook’s disposable table runner in a light blue and white stripe reflected the snow day theme. I placed the sled on top and tucked faux pinecone foliage neatly around it for added visual appeal. Monogram linen napkins brought a fancy feel to the table, alongside lovely Juliska snowflake serving pieces.

With the guaranteed good time that goes hand-in-hand with this winter party, I hope your family will take on our tradition of anxiously awaiting a snow day!
