Anytime you can upgrade a store-bought mix to a custom dessert with just a few added ingredients, that is a win in my book. Start by preparing your favorite brand’s vanilla cupcake mix according to the directions on the box. A brush of Jackson Morgan in whipped orange cream paired with a simple homemade icing kicks these cupcakes up a notch. Serve these sweets at your next summer shindig.
Ingredients:
Boxed Vanilla Cupcake Mix (Plus any ingredients to make the cupcakes)
2 Tablespoons Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in whipped orange cream
Buttercream
1 Cup Butter, Room Temperature
3 Ounces Cream Cheese, Room Temperature
½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
4 Tablespoons Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in whipped orange
Zest of Half an Orange
Directions:
Make the cupcakes according to the directions on the box and allow to cool. Then brush the tops with Jackson Morgan in whipped orange cream using a pastry brush.
To make the icing, cream the butter and cream cheese together on medium/high speed until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Then add the vanilla, Jackson Morgan, and orange zest. Mix until just combined. Add the buttercream to a piping bag and pipe onto cooled cupcakes. Enjoy!
