Bar Set Up

Building houses (even out of gingerbread) can certainly work up an appetite, so good holiday hosts will offer tidings of joyful refreshments in the form of, of course, cookies and cocoa. To keep with the theme, use shredded coconut for faux snow in the bottom of an apothecary jar, then fill with cookies for guests to crunch on. Serve up hot cocoa (spiked and sans-spirits for the whippersnappers) with a spread of tasty toppings to choose from. Our family faves include marshmallows, chocolate candies, and no cup is complete without a mini gingerbread house mug topper!

When your gingerbread gathering comes to a close and guests begin to pack up and go home, you don’t have to duke it out to see who gets clean up duty. When you use the same craft paper or paper placemats on the bar as you did on the table, tidying up means simply tossing the paper in the trash or recycle bin.
