As an enthusiastic event hostess, there are a number of decor items and accessories that top my party prep wish list. I have long adored balloon garlands, but did not want to pay to have one made for every party. Not wanting to give up this fun party flare, I did a little research and actually found a fantastic kit online to make your own balloon garlands and I have not looked back since.

The required supplies are really quite simple. All you need is an electric balloon pump, balloon tape, and balloon tying tool. First, use the pump to blow up the selection of balloons that you wish to use. You can choose to incorporate coordinating colors or stick with all one color. For this party, I went with a mix of multiple bright colors. The balloon tying tool, to me, is an essential time saver as it helps you quickly tie each balloon. Next use the balloon tape to arrange the balloons in the fashion or pattern of your choice. This is a long strand of clear plastic with holes in it that you place the knots of the balloons into to create the garland.

After you have placed all your balloons, I recommend laying out your garland and looking it over before hanging or positioning it. This gives you a chance to rearrange if you want different colors or notice an empty space. I also appreciate that when using this method you can create your garland a day or two in advance (as long as it is stored inside – heat causes balloons to shrink), giving you time to do other party preparations the day of your event.
